Bill Gates spent $171 million on 14,500 hectares of agricultural land in South Washington. It is this year’s most expensive purchase of land in the USA, writes “Agro-Center”.

At the moment, Gates is second in the list of the richest people in the world. First place is occupied by Jeffrey Bezos, the founder of the online store Amazon.com.
Last month, Bill Gates bought a plot of land from John Hancock Life Insurance Co. that paid $75 million for it in 2010. Gates acquired 10,500 units of irrigated agricultural land, 3900 of pasture lands and about 140 in the area. Acquired land is located in the area known as the hills of Heavenly Mountains.
The annual rating of the largest landowners in America, the Land Report, is headed by Liberty Media LLC leader, John Melone, with 2.2 million acres. He is followed by Ted Turner and the Emmerson family, with 2 million acres each.
This year, an investment company “Dubai” acquired most land in the United States worth 136 million dollars. The company bought the El Maxima Ranch (38.453 acres) in the area of Eiffel Tower in April.
