A farmer from Volyn presented new potato varieties (photo)

Field Day was held on August 16 at the Shehedin Farm in Volyn. New potato varieties and technologies of growing them in Volyn were presented at the event, writes “Agro-Center”.

Potatoes are traditional for Volyn. More than 1 million tons of potatoes are grown there annually. In Ukraine, the total production of potatoes is 20 million tons.

Volodymyr Shegedin said that 70 varieties of potatoes are grown on the farm. New foreign varieties will be presented this year. The farmer’s favorite variety is Latona, but he points out that there are many good varieties of potatoes, it all depends on personal preference and dishes.

Not only Ukrainian farmers but also guests from Belarus, with whom Volodymyr Shehedin plans cooperate in the future, visited the Field Day.
