A new plant with a thermal power station will be opened in Khmelnytskyi

“Kernel” is one of the largest sunflower oil producers and exporters in Ukraine and in the world. The company plans to launch a new plant that will specialize in the processing of oilseeds, writes “Agro-Center”.

The new plant is scheduled to begin its work in 2021. The construction of the plant was started in the Khmelnytskyi region, in the Starokonstantinovsky area. The plant will be able to process 1 million tons of raw materials per year, and storage facilities will hold 100 thousand tons.

Also, it is planned to build a thermal power station with a 22 MW capacity, which will work on sunflower husk. The company plans to install similar thermal power stations at all its plants by the end of 2020.

Nowadays, “Kernel” produces about 8% of world sunflower oil.
