The United Nations purchased about 80,000 tons of Ukrainian wheat for delivery to Sudan, according to Reuters.

Agro-Center tells more about it.

The procurement was conducted by the United Nations Relief and Works Agency. The agency purchased about 80,000 tons of wheat in two tranches.

Wheat is expected to be delivered from Ukraine to the Republic of Sudan as food aid because the country is experiencing food shortages. This was announced by European traders on Monday, May 18, 2020.

About 40,000 tons will be shipped by the end of May, and 40,000 tons in the first half of July. The United Nations provides food aid to Sudan through several programs.
