Rabies Is Spreading Among Cattle in the Ternopil region

On November 30th, in a private sector, in the village of Rudka, Kremenetsky district, one of four cows died. Specialists of the Department of State Consumer Services in the Kremenetsky district selected the material from the dead animal to carry out tests and establish the reason of death, writes “Agro-Center”.

The samples were sent to the Lviv Regional State Veterinary Laboratory and the carcass was destroyed by incineration. After analysis, the presence of a rabies pathogen in the dead animal was confirmed.

Rabies symptoms were found in another cow from the same farm. Employees of the State Consumer Services killed the animal and destroyed its carcass.

On December 4th, a meeting of the State Emergency Anti-Epizootic Commission at the Kremenetsky Regional State Administration was held. Prevention of the spread of rabies in the Kremenets region was discussed at the meeting.
