TOP-10 of the driest regions in Ukraine was published

In 2019, according to the independent agricultural weather service Meteo Pharm, the least precipitation was recorded in Odesa, Cherkasy, and Kherson regions. This was reported by Mokra Sprava in the rating of the driest and wettest regions of Ukraine on Latifundist.com.

According to the data, the total precipitation in Ukraine was only three-quarters of the norm. The hydrothermal humidification coefficient (HTC), which shows the level of moisture supply in the territory, was the lowest in the southern regions of the country. Also, maximum air temperatures have been recorded in these regions. The highest values ​​of GCT were recorded in the western regions. Soil moisture in most regions is one of the lowest in 10 years.

The TOP-10 of most dry regions includes:

  • Odesa region – precipitation equaled 282.1 mm;
  • Cherkasy region – 297.7 mm;
  • Kherson region – 307.7 mm;
  • Zaporizhia region – 322.4 mm;
  • Kyiv region – 324.9 mm;
  • Chernihiv region – 331.2 mm;
  • Poltava region – 339 mm;
  • Vinnytsia region – 339.7 mm;
  • Sumy region – 342.6 mm;
  • Kirovohrad region – 344.4 mm.
