A huge apple festival will take place in Moldova (PHOTOS)

Have you already decided how to spend the weekend? If you haven’t, there’s a unique opportunity to visit the apple festival in Soroca in the Republic of Moldova this year, says Agro-Center.

Our neighbors in Moldova promote the development of gardening and encourage farmers to grow fruit trees. This year the eighth national apple festival in Soroca will be held. The tradition was started back in 2011 by gardeners of the Soroca district. The apple festival is a great opportunity to demonstrate to your fellow countryman and neighboring countries your achievements in gardening. Gardeners can also find new partners, investors or buyers during the event.

Guests will be welcome to enjoy national dishes – cheese, mamaliga and many others. They can buy different varieties of apples and grapes.

Where and when: Republic of Moldova, Soroca Fortress, 17.09, starts at 10 AM.

How to get there: Start in Vinnitsa. Take the “Vinnitsa-Yampil” bus (the first one departs at 06.50, costs 100-120 hryvnias). When you arrive at Yampil, you can get on a ferry, or depart from Yampil to the border village of Tsekinovka (10-15 km), and from there, you’ll get to the city of Soroca.

The ferry operates till 6-7 PM, so you’ll have time to get back to the Ukrainian side. There are two hotels in the city if you want to stay. The last bus to Vinnitsa leaves at 7 PM.
