Ukraine without bread: prices for a loaf went up again

The harvest of grain has long ended and agrarians were able to evaluate the results and establish whether the year was successful or not. This year, in Ukraine, 34.3 million tons were harvested from a land with an area of ​​9.9 million. In 2017, it was 37.3 million tons of grain from a land with an area of 9.6 million. At the same time, in September, a price for bread made from wheat flour went up by 2.9%, for rye and wheat bread – by 2.6%, writes “Agro-Center”.

Price of bread, the Ukrainians’ favorite, grew by 44-46 cents per kilogram last month. Most common varieties of bread added 13% -14% of the price during the year. It is about 1.95-2.00 UAH per kilogram.

In addition to bread, prices for other grain products went up: for wheat flour and pasta by 5% and 3.5%, respectively.

The data indicate that the average cost of a package of 23 food products that are subject to monitoring by the state has increased by 1.7%, or by 18 hryvnias. The price of the food package is now about 1028 hryvnias.
