Farmers’ wages increased by almost 25%
In January-August 2018, an average monthly salary of farmers and workers in the agricultural sector amounted to UAH 6,856. It is 24.6% more than last year, according to the data from the State Statistics Service, writes “Agro-Center”.
EY and KyivPost companies conducted a survey of top managers and HR-directors of leading companies – “Strategic Labor Market Prospects in Ukraine – 2017”. According to the results, 95% of respondents believe that the agrarian sector is the most promising area for doing business.
A key feature of the modern agricultural sector is its transition to digital.
“In recent years, farmers have finally managed to destroy the stereotype of the Soviet collective farm and became innovative businesses where every employee must have sufficient qualifications to manage modern agricultural machinery and industrial units,”
said Tatiana Vorochenko, HR-director of AgricomGroup.
A modern farmer and agronomist should be able to use a tablet, analyze satellite images of the fields, manage drones, and make a quick decision.
“Technical equipment of modern agricultural complexes is changing and the requirements for workers are changing with it. In particular, the need for technological literacy of a specialist is increasing,”
said an analyst at Pro-Consulting.
Modern farmer has to follow the trend and be in the flow. They need to stay up-to-date on the latest technology, new techniques, and research.
