Dangerous Berries: Needles in Strawberries Were Found Again in Australia
Needles in strawberries were found again in the Australian state of Victoria. Dangerous berries were sold in supermarkets in the northern district of Melbourne, writes “Agro-Center”.
“Detectives of the Banu City District Criminal Investigation Unit are investigating two reports of food spoilage,”
said a police spokesman.
In one case, a woman bought berries at the Coles supermarket, which she then used to decorate a cake. She “complained of a sore throat while eating and swallowing and as a result was forced to go to the hospital with minor injuries.”
In the second case, the strawberries were purchased in the Melbourne suburb of Fairfield.
There have been similar cases in Australia last year. Sewing needles were found in several batches of fruits and berries.
