In Poland, the Minister of the Environment presented a plan of fighting ASV. It involves massive killings of wild boars, drones, night vision devices, thermal imagers and the army. UkrAgroConsult informs about it, writes Agro-Center.
Drones and thermal imagers will be used to locate and calculate a number of wild boars. Hunting clubs will be obliged to kill up to 90% of boars on the territory during two months. The army will help with the elimination of the animal’s bodies.
The hunters themselves say it is necessary to approach the matter even more harshly.
“We need to go further and suspend the laws on hunting and animal protection. This way an effective reduction of the number of boars will be possible. It’s a war. ASF is a cause of 90% of deaths of boars. The use of drones does not guarantee success. The promptness of the Minister’s of Environment reaction to reports is much more important,”
