35 Hectares of Corn Fields in Germany Turned into Popcorn
A 44-year-old German farmer Carl Pechler didn’t believe his eyes when he saw his cornfield. Almost all corn turned into popcorn! This probably happened because of the heat, which broke all records in Germany this season, writes “Agro-Center” with a reference to “Der Postillon”.
The farmer said that he did not even plan to go to the field that day, but a local called him and told about the strange sounds he heard when he was passing by the field.
“What am I supposed to do now? 35 hectares! The whole crop is gone! I have never seen so much popcorn, even at markets and festivals,”
complained Pechler, holding a corn cob in his hand.
Almost all of the corn “popped” and covered the ground in the form of popcorn. However, one can still hear popping sounds coming from the field.
The farmer doesn’t know what to do.
“The only thing I can do right now is to harvest immediately and hope that some of the corn can be saved,”
said the man.
The farmer shared that because of the record heat, potato farmers also reported that they were digging up French fries, and a smell of fresh baked goods was coming from the wheat fields.
