Farmer from Argentina Found the Remains of Prehistoric Creatures (Photo)
A farmer from the province of Buenos Aires found huge shells of prehistoric animals on a riverbank.
“Agro-Center” tells more about it.
Commentary: “The animals were facing one direction as if they were going somewhere,” said Pablo Messineo, a local archeologist.
Details: A shepherd from Argentina accidentally discovered the remains of prehistoric animals that died 10,000 years ago when he drove his herd to the river.
The farmer was guiding the herd to the Vallimanca River in Buenos Aires. The river has become shallow during the last couple of years due to unprecedented global warming and drought. Four huge shells that were previously covered with water surfaced.
Scientists established that the remains belong to prehistoric mammals – glyptodons.
They believe that the shells belonged to two adult animals and two cubs. They probably died at the same time.
