Rivers and Reservoirs Have Become Abnormally Shallow in Ukraine

In Ukraine, rivers and reservoirs have become very shallow due to the anomalous autumn and winter of 2019-2020.

“Agro-Center” tells more about it.

Details: For the first time in 120 years, hydro-meteorological conditions can lead to restrictions on water use in Ukraine. Water use may be changed or limited, including discharges of water through hydroelectric dams.

According to the Ukrhydromet Center, low water levels are observed in most Ukrainian rivers. Accordingly, there will be no freshet this year. Also, shallow water can cause small rivers to dry up.

The occupied Crimea stated that by the beginning of spring about 100 million cubic meters of water will have been accumulated in the main reservoirs. It is almost 50% less than last year.
