A Farmer Grows Unique Red Nuts in the Kirovograd Region

A Ukrainian scientist from the Nikitsky Botanical Garden is one of the first people to create a new variety of red nuts. The new variety was called “Purple”, writes “Agro-Center” with a reference to “Agri – Gator”.

Red nuts are much more expensive than ordinary ones. The new product is mostly in demand among restaurants, where it is served with desserts or added to salads.

“You can talk about its bright harmonious sweet taste and regular yield (68,8 c/ha) for hours but most people are still used to the common white nut variety. In terms of export, on the one hand, the market needs the common nut variety, but on the other hand, I believe that the new variety will find its place at the world market,”

says Alexander, who works with the new variety.

As of today, Alexander is one of the few people who grow the unique red nuts. According to the farmer, in the case of the new nut variety, taste characteristics must take over the EU standards.
