Ducks Won the Right to Quack

In the French city of Dax, the court allowed ducks of a local farmer Dominica Dute to quack, writes “Agro-Center”.

Last year, a young couple bought a house in the neighborhood. They didn’t like the noises Dominica’s ducks made. The farmer keeps about 60 ducks. The couple asked to calm the birds or transport them to another location.

The couple appealed to the court. They demanded € 150 for each day of noise and an additional € 3,000 as compensation. The couple’s lawyer assured that his clients could not sleep with the windows open and “enjoy the garden”. The court sided with the ducks.

It should be noted that this is not the first such case. In September of this year, another court in France ruled that a rooster named Maurice is allowed to crow.
