A Farmer from the Volyn Region Harvested 120 tons of Watermelons (Photo)

Farmer Vasyl Sidoruk grows watermelons, which isn’t common for the Volyn region. This year, he planted two hectares with watermelons and harvested 120 tons. Vasyl tried his first watermelons at the end of July, writes “Agro-Center” with a reference to Volyn News.

“As it is the first year of cultivation, I am really happy with the results. I will continue to plant watermelons and try other varieties. My family is used to me always planting something new in the garden. I proved to the skeptics that nothing is impossible and that our watermelons are no worse than those from Kherson. They are just as sweet. I sold mine in bulk for 2-3 hryvnias per kilogram, and for 4-4,5 hryvnias at fairs. Covered all the costs, including organic fertilizers, and even earned some money,”

shared the farmer.

Specialists from “Magnat Agro” helped Vasyl to pick the seeds, plant and grow the seedlings.
