A Farmer from the Kyiv Region Grew an Onion that Weighs Almost Two Kilograms (photo)

Oleksandr Shkidchenko is a farmer from Kyiv region who managed to grow the largest onion in Ukraine. Its weight is 1.8 kg and girth – 53 cm, writes “Agro-Center”.

“It is a Dutch variety that grows well in our weather conditions. I planted it at the end of March and got the giant by fall! It has even got a name – “Chipolinka”,

said the farmer.

The farmer noted that the onion grew to become this huge because he didn’t fertilize the plant with chemicals, only watered it from time to time.
