A Ukrainian Was Sentenced For Killing a Chicken

In the Dnipropetrovsk region, the Novomoskovsk City District Court sentenced a resident of Pereschepino to 5 years in prison for killing a chicken. The man killed a domestic chicken with extreme cruelty in front of a child. The video of the killing appeared on Instagram, writes “Agro-Center” with a reference to “UNIAN”.

It is noted that the killing happened on July 25, 2019, at approximately 4 pm. The man was with the child in the house. The animal ran into the house, the man grabbed her and hit it with a glass bottle. The chicken ran outside, but the man caught her and, held the bird by its wing, causing it pain. The chicken screamed. The man slammed the bird on the ground three times, from which it died.

The man was sentenced under Part 3 of Art. 299 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine up to 5 years of imprisonment but released and given only a one-year probation period. The man pleaded guilty and repented.
