Cows Without Horns in the USA

The Recombinetics startup began their experiment in 2014. Recently, the company reported that they were finally successful, writes “Agro-Center”.

Homozygous cells of PC Celtic POLLED cow made it possible to obtain completely healthy calves without horns as the result of artificial insemination.

Formally, such animals can be considered genetically modified. However, all their genes are characteristic of ordinary animals of different breeds. This can help with the approval of new cows by the US Food and Drug Administration. Farmers will probably like the idea because now they won’t have to remove the horns themselves.
