Three years behind bars for killing bees: an unknown person drenched 27 hives in fuel in Volhynia

The Shatsk police department reported that on August 7th they received two statements from residents of Podmanovo and Shatsk villages which said that an unknown person poured fuel on 27 beehives located near the village of Podmanovo, writes “Agro-Center”.

Due to the damage done, the hives are unusable and the bee families are dead.

Investigators entered the details to the Unified Register of Pre-trial Investigations under Part 1 of Art. 194 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (intentional destruction or damage to property).

Criminal proceedings are being examined. The maximum penalty is imprisonment for a term up to three years.
