The first dairy cooperative was opened in Cherkassy region
Nowadays, cooperatives are becoming a powerful tool all over the world. The first dairy cooperative began its work in the city of Uman, in Cherkasy region, writes “Agro-Center”.
Experts say that the demand for dairy products is growing with the population of the planet. Experts believe that the dairy industry leaders present at the market today won’t be able to satisfy high demand. Therefore, the contribution to the development of the dairy industry is quite promising.
“As the experience of the world shows, cooperatives are the future. We are confident that the activity of AVM will be a good example for the Ukrainian dairy industry,”
said Patrick Ryder, Project Director of the USAID’s “Support for Agrarian and Rural Development “.
“Therefore, it is absolutely reasonable to look at Ukraine as a country that, during the next 10 years, may become one of the TOP-10 producers of dairy products in the world. However, in order to strengthen its presence on the market, it is necessary to cooperate fully with the corresponding economic returns. We need to guarantee the security, traceability of milk and quality of raw materials, which will help us to realize the milk potential of Ukraine,”
added Anna Lavrenyuk, Vice President of the AVM.
Statistics say that six out of ten world’s largest milk producers are dairy cooperatives.
At the same time, in November, profits from milk production in Ukraine increased by 8.4%. Experts believe that it happened due to an increase in prices for milk. However, even in this case, the profitability of milk production in November of 2018 was by 13.2% lower than in 2017 and by 10.3% lower than the average for the last seven years during this month.
