Farmers Opened the First Family Farm in Ternopil Region
Vasily and Natalia Bezkorovyny opened the first family farm in the Ternopil region. The “Molochnyy Dvir” farm is located in the village of Toky Podvolochysky district. Twelve cows live on the farm, writes “Agro-Center” with a reference to the newspaper “Silskyy Hospodar Plus”.
Both Vasily and Natalia were born in the village and used to help their parents on their farms as kids.
The couple started their farm with one cow and got a new cow each year since then.
The family decided to increase the number of livestock in the summer. To make their farm more profitable and reduce labor costs, the couple joined the family dairy farm project. In Western Ukraine, the project is being implemented by “UkrMilkInvest” and the “Natural Milk” cluster.
With the help of the project, farmers equipped a cowshed, remodeled an old stable and created perfect conditions for keeping cattle.
The cowshed is equipped with rubber rugs, there are fans in the barn and lighting in feeding stables. The is also a mini-lab and a fridge on the farm.
Natalia was very happy with the changes. She has been responsible for milking the cows, and now there is a milking machine.
The owners said that they are satisfied with both their work and the amount of money they make. They plan to increase the number of animals on the farm to 15 cows. The couple says they can handle it because they cultivate 17 hectares of land, which provides their cows with food.
“You just have to love this. Without any exaggerations and with inherent rural simplicity. We cannot all go and live abroad! I used to work in Poland and the Czech Republic. But home is home. And there is not enough work in the city for everyone. Someone needs to work in villages. Here you are your own master, working on your land.”
The couple loves farming even though it is hard. They do all the work on the farm on their own, sometimes with the help of their daughters Mariana and Snуzhana.
