The Fastest Tractor Accelerates to 167 km/h (Video)
In 2018, the anonymous Top Gear test driver, Stig, accelerated a modified tractor called the Track-tor to 87.2 mph. It was the world record for tractor speed. Recently, a year after, the record has been broken by tractor company JCB, Williams Advanced Engineering, and motorcycle racing legend Guy Martin, writes “Agro Center”.
The record-setter, which achieved an average maximum speed of 103.6 mph, used one of the JCB 4000 tractors from the Fastrac series as a base. The engine capacity is 7.2 liters, the power is 1000 hp.
With Martin behind the wheel, the tractor made two trips in the opposite directions at Elvington Airport near York, England. The tractor accelerated to 103.6 mph, breaking Stig’s record by 16.4 mph and setting a new tractor speed record.
