Police Officers Cultivated Drugs Using Hydroponics in Poltava (Photo)

In the village of Chutovo, in the Poltava region, a facility for cultivation, processing and selling hemp was equipped on the territory of an old farm, writes “Agro-Center”.

Andriy Zamakhin, the police chief in the Poltava region, reported that the police were able to find out that two former and two current law enforcement officers of the Chutov Police Department were involved in the crime.

During the search, about 50 hemp plants grown using the hydroponics method and about 8 kg of dried drug substance, which looked like cannabis, were seized by law enforcement. According to preliminary information, the value of drugs seized is about 800 thousand hryvnias at the black-market prices.

Drugs were grown using the hydroponics technology that is very popular today. Among the equipment, there were water filters, humidity sensors, thermometers, irrigation system, fertilizer packages, timers, lamps for heating and daylight, packages with soil, and germinated hemp seeds.

At the moment, the case of illegal sowing and cultivation of hemp for sale committed by the group of men (Part 2 of Article 310 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) is being investigated.
