A Storm Destroyed Thousands of Acres of Fields in Spain
The strongest storm in 140 years was recorded in the Spanish provinces of Alicante and Murcia. Thousands of people were evacuated, many lack drinking water and electricity, writes “Agro-Center”.
Agrarian associations estimated that about 300,000 hectares of fields was lost, which is an equivalent to the area of the province of Alava. In particular, citrus, grape, and vegetable crops were destroyed.
Autonomous Community President Valencia Simo Puja insists on asking for a so-called “Marshall Plan” for the area.
