Exotic business in the Carpathian region: former ATO soldier has built an ostrich farm

In the village of Lovagi in the Carpathian region, Sergei Shvets, a former ATO soldier, has been rebuilding premises for an ostrich farm for five years. Successful businessman proves that ostrich business is no longer elitist and can be taken on by anyone, writes “Agro-Center” with a reference to “shotam.info”.

The ostrich farm started working very recently. However, it makes good money – about 2000 UAH per day.

“A year before the ATO, my mother came up with an idea for an ostrich farm after seeing a TV show about this business. I liked the idea and did some research. It turned out that this business is profitable and cost-effective. We began to get the plot ready. When I returned from ATO, my family and I decided to make it happen,”

said Sergiy.

Because the ostrich market is not very active, the man had to look for places that sold the animals.

“We are just beginning. Many locals from a village nearby still don’t know that there is an ostrich farm here. One tour without tasting costs 50 UAH, and with a tasting – 300 UAH. We get approximately 30 people for one tour,”

said the farmer.
