How many hectares of the forest has already been restored in Ukraine?
According to the press service of the State Agency of Forest Resources of Ukraine, almost 25,000 hectares of the forest have been restored and more than 122 million trees have been planted.
Agro-Center tells more about it.
According to the law, one has to restore cut trees during the following one or two years. The time frame is due to the need to prepare the soil and other measures for planting a forest or to promote its natural regeneration. The basic rule is that the number of trees cut down must equal the number of trees planted, says the message.
“It is either manual or mechanical planting. We will estimate the results soon, taking to account the natural forest regeneration. This year, it is planned to restore a total of about 35 thousand hectares of forest“, – commented the head of the State Forestry Agency Andriy Zablotsky.
