“1500 Euros per a Kilogram of Cheese”: It Is More Profitable to Breed Donkeys than Cows
Scientists proved that donkey milk is valuable and helps to improve immunity in humans. That is why so many farmers started breeding donkeys.

Commentary: “Donkey milk is rich in Vitamin C and calcium. It supports immune function in children and adults. In Italy, donkey farms are even connected with kindergartens, where 60 grams of donkey milk is given to children every morning,” says farmer Temur Lomidze.
Details: Temur calls his farm “Viriland” – the land of donkeys (“viri” means “donkey” in Georgian). According to the businessman, breeding donkeys is a profitable business. They rarely get sick and are easy to care for. One donkey can produce milk for almost 20 years.
Donkey milk has medicinal properties. It helps to treat children’s’ diseases such as chickenpox, whooping cough, scarlet fever, lung disease.
There are now 60 animals on the farm. Pastures occupy an area of 45 hectares. Temur plans to increase the number of animals to 100 heads and start producing cheese. Currently, a kilogram of this product costs from 1000 to 1500 euros per kilogram.
