Foresters have built a greenhouse (PHOTOS)
It is nice to see practices aimed at recreating natural assets (especially forests) being implemented. Vinnitsa region knows how to do it because people there breed unique tree saplings and plants them on large areas.
100 plants are being grown in a modern place, located in state enterprise “Vinnytsia forestry”. The director of the institution, V. Popelnyuk, and the head of the forestry department, Y. Ilchenko, work every day to ensure that the region’s forests reach their highest potential.
This spring, a greenhouse of Polish production with an area of 500 square meters was built at the enterprise. It grows seedlings of wood and shrub – about 80 thousands of seedlings. They are grown in reusable pallets, filled with substrate.
Some material has been moved for maturation to a newly built underground place with an automated watering system that has an area of 500 square meters. Moreover, there is another room with an area of 400 square meters, which was built to grow ornamental planting material.
Today, more than 40 varieties of ornamental plants are grown there, only 15 thousand pieces. The place has a beautiful appearance as landscape designers worked on its decor.
Here’s the brief data of the State Forestry Enterprise. They produce 17-18 tons of forest plant’s seeds, plant 1.2-1.5 million pieces. They grow 55 pieces.
Growing of pine planting material has been increased from 40 thousand pieces to 81 thousand pieces, larch – from 7 thousand pieces to 20 thousand pieces, black walnut – from 35 thousand pieces to 48 thousand pieces, pears – from 10 thousand pieces to 35 thousand pieces, sweet cherries – to 6 thousand pieces.
What’s interesting about larch in Vinnitsa region is that it is not typical for the Podillya region. However, according to experts, this tree is highly productive, grows fast, needs a little care and is resistant to diseases. Larch reaches maturity after 60 years, while the oak – after more than 100 years.
