Organic production will be studied in Ukrainian universities

Organic products are gaining popularity. People in Ukraine have developed a taste for organic products. From now on, three Ukrainian universities will teach their students all the intricacies of organic production, writes “Agro-Center”.

Leaders of the Vinnytsia National Agrarian University, the Tavria State Agrotechnological University and Agrarian and Economical College informed the public about the decision during the conference “Organic Farming: Education and Science”.

At the conference, representatives of universities where students already study organic production shared their experiences, told about specifics of growing and selling such products. Students use different methods during their studies – in particular, conduct research on the topic of organic production.

Produce can be considered organic if it:

was grown and produced without the use of GMOs;
does not contain chemically synthesized preservatives, dyes, flavors, stabilizers, and thickeners;

was made without the use of harmful technologies;
was grown without the use of chemically synthesized pesticides, fertilizers, and other agrochemicals;

in the case of animal farming, was produced without the use of antibiotics, hormones and growth promoters.

Let’s recall that experts critically assessed the quality of agrarian education in Ukraine.
