Oil made from raspberries and hemp: a farmer from Vinnytsia region makes a unique product
Igor Mudrik is an entrepreneur from Vinnytsia region. He transforms seeds into cold pressed oil and paste. He learned the production technology from a Swiss Walter Dunzer. Nowadays, he makes oil from seeds of dill, parsley, carrots, flax, hemp, thistle, apricots, and even raspberries, writes «Agro-Center».
Igor uses German equipment to make his products, which are all raw because it’s more beneficial. The man says that he didn’t plan to become engaged in this business.
«I am into sports and healthy eating. I traveled abroad and visited exhibitions there in order to learn more. That’s how I met Walter Dunzer, who showed me his company’s facility for cold pressing oils,»
says Igor.
According to the technology, the oil should be produced at a temperature not higher than 40 degrees Celsius. Then it retains all beneficial properties. After seeing that there is demand for the product, the entrepreneur created the company «Ekolia» and received certification.
To make 50 grams of raspberry oil, you need a whole pound of stones. Therefore, the volumes of finished products are small. It is supplied to eco-shops in big cities. Net profit, on average, is 20-30% of the cost of production.
«If we sell a bottle of oil for 50 hryvnias, our net profit is 10-15 hryvnias,»
summed up Igor.
